Fundamental Properties (FP) of languages: (5)
Spoken languages vs written languages;
Humans are born and inherited with a unique speech apparatus that allows us to produce a wide range of sounds. Most researchers agree that spoken languages leave no physical trace and it is virtually impossible to determine what the oldest spoken language in the world was. It is obvious that our ancestors started to communicate with each other at the same time and evolved differently around the world.
As for written languages, it would be possible to find what written languages were the earlier languages traced by their archeological physical evidence. First of all, it is necessary to find the earliest traces of the language that was the primitive and “isolate” script which was not derived from any previous languages.
Both spoken languages and written languages have their fundamental properties while different languages tend to use different properties differently to a certain degree.
