Ɓɓ = b (Voiced bilabial implosive)

Chch =ch as in “chat”

Dd = d as in “dog”

Ee = e as in “let”

Ǝɘ = e (A mid-central vowel, similar to the first ‘e’)

Ff = f as in “fish”

Gg = ɡ as in “go”

Gbgb = gb (A voiced velar fricative)

Hh = h as in “hat”

Ii = i as in “machine”

Ii = i as in “bit” (different from the first ‘i’)

Jj = j as in “judge”

Kk = k as in “cat”

Kp = kp (Voiceless labial-velar plosive)

Kw = kw (Voiceless labialized velar plosive)

Ll = l as in “let”

Mm = m as in “man”

Nn = n as in “not”

Nw = nw (Voiced velar nasal plus bilabial glide)

Ny = ny (Voiced velar nasal plus bilabial nasal)
