Chinese logographic script (character) and Mayan logographic script belong to the ancient autologous script (Source script) system. Chinese script has the nature of ideographic characters whereas Mayan script switched to alphabetic script.  A comparative study of ideographic script (Chinese) and phonetic script is not only beneficial to promote the research of the two branch scripts, but also to explore the general laws of the origin, to find the fundamental properties of languages, composition and to understand the development of characters and letters, and to enrich and develop the theory of comparative philology and general philology.
