آ (ā) = a in “father.”

ا (a) = a in “cat.”

ب (b) = b in “bat.”

ٻ (bh) = bh in “subh” (Sindhi for morning).

ڀ (ḇ) = b (Similar to “bh” but with a stronger emphasis on the “b” sound.)

ڄ (ch) = ch in “church.”

ڇ (chh) = ch with a stronger emphasis on the “ch” sound.

د (d) = d in “dog.”

ڏ (ḍ) = d with a stronger emphasis on the “d” sound.

ڍ (ḍh) = d (Similar to “ḍ” but with a stronger emphasis on the “ḍ” sound.)

ڳ (g) = g in “go.”

گ (g) = g in “go.”

ڱ (ṅ) = g with a stronger emphasis on the “g” sound.

ه (h) = h in “hello.”

ح (ḥ) = h (a breathy “h” sound.)

ج (j) = j in “jump.”

ک (k) = k in “kite.”

ڪ (kh) = kh with a stronger emphasis on the “k” sound.

خ (kh) = kh in the Scottish “loch.”

ل (l) = l in “love.”

م (m) = m in “mother.”

ن (n) = n in “nose.”

ڻ (ṇ) = n a stronger emphasis on the “n” sound.

ق (q) = q in “quran.”

ر (r) = r in “run.”

ڙ (ṛ) = r with a stronger emphasis on the “r” sound.

غ (gh) = r (French “r” or the “gh” in “ugh.”)

س (s) = s in “snake.”

ث (s) = s in “see.”

ش (sh) = sh in “shoe.”

ص (ṣ) = s with a stronger emphasis on the “s” sound.

ض (ẓ) = s with a stronger emphasis on the “ṣ” sound.

ت (t) = t in “top.”

ٽ (ṭ) = t with a stronger sound.

ٺ (ṭh) = t (Similar to “ṭ” but with a stronger emphasis on the “ṭ” sound.)

ط (ṭ) = t (Pronounced like the “ṭ” in “cat.”)

و (w) = w in “world.”

ي (y) = y in “yes.”

ز (z) = z in “zero.

دذ (z) = z in “zebra.”

ژ (zh) = s in “measure.”

ظ (ẓ) = z as “ẓ” in some Arabic words.

ء (ʾ) =  A glottal stop, similar to the sound between the two syllables of “uh-oh.”

ع (ʿ) = a (guttural “a” sound.)
