Aa = a in “father.”

Bb = b in “bed.”

Ch (Чч) = ch in “cheese.”

Dd = d in “dog.”

Ee = e in “met.”

Ff = f in “fish.”

Gg = g in “go.”

Gʻ (Ғғ) = g in “get,” but with a guttural sound.

Hh = h in “house.”

Ii = ee in “see.”

Jj = j in “joy.”

Kk = k in “kite.”

Ll = l in “love.”

Mm = m in “man.”

Nn = n in “new.”

Ng (Ққ) = ng in “sing.”

Oo = o in “go.”

Oʻ (Ўў) = o in “go,” but with a w-sound.

Pp = p in “pen.”

Qq = q in “quick” (a unique sound in Uzbek).

Rr = r in “red.”

Ss = s in “sit.”

Sh (Шш) = sh in “shoe.”

Tt = t in “top.”

Uu = oo in “food.”

Vv = v in “very.”

Xx = x in “loch” (a throaty sound).

Yy = y in “yes.”
